If your child has shortness of breath, wheezing, chronic cough, or another condition that affects breathing, they may have a respiratory or lung condition that needs treatment. Our pediatric pulmonologists work with you and your child to find the source of their health problem and the best way to treat it. We have experience with both routine and complex cases and care for children with a range of conditions, from asthma to cystic fibrosis (CF).

Comprehensive Pediatric Pulmonology Care

A Lifetime of Care
Our pediatric pulmonologists have extensive experience treating infants, children, and young adults with conditions including complicated respiratory infections such as recurrent pneumonia, breathing problems linked to sleep disorders, cystic fibrosis, and others. As your child grows, we can help them make the transition to adult care. The transition from pediatric to adult cystic fibrosis specialists begins around the age of 16.

Our Locations

Duke Health offers locations throughout the Triangle. Find one near you.

A Team Approach
You and your child will meet with a team of experts including doctors, nurse practitioners, nutritionists, physical therapists, and social workers. Depending on their condition, they may also receive care from our experts in pediatric sleep disorders, pediatric CF, and others. If your child needs care outside of pediatric pulmonology, we collaborate with Duke pediatric specialists in gastroenterology, cardiology, neurology, genetics, behavioral health, and other areas so your child achieves the best outcome possible.
